Redstable brings our products to life
At Woodbender we’ve had the opportunity of supplying furniture to a large number of beautiful retirement villages. One of the latest projects was for the Kronendal Retirement Village in Hout Bay, a project by designer group Redstable.
Redstable took Woodbender’s furniture into a variety of spaces in the village – from the dining hall to the lounge to the frail care unit. “With Woodbender we are assured of quality and on-time delivery,” says Redstable. “We loved the modern lines of the chairs. Although Woodbender does not normally manufacture furniture in kiaat, they kindly matched a stain to our kiaat sample, so all timber joinery matched.”
Redstable commented that they liked that the couches are narrow in depth to ensure support for the elderly; the style suited the designer’s ergonomic layouts.
In addition the lounge furniture and couches are light enough to be moved around for functions. “The proportions and sturdiness of the dining furniture was suitable to support the seated elderly residents.”
Woodbender supplied Plettenberg Handrail Carvers into the dining room, Hampshire Highback and Lowback Tubs and Two Seaters as well as Plettenberg Handrail Bar Stools.
“We’re exceptionally proud of how the furniture came together. It has been wonderful to hear that the residents love the furniture and that our product has been specified for an outside villa resident,” says Woodbender owners Shirley and Charles Mast.
