This month’s feature furniture piece is the Somerset
The Somerset is part of Woodbender’s very first range of bentwood furniture. The round seat and round legs were the start of the Woodbender chair design.
The Somerset has a cottage-furniture look with the spindles and back rest shape. As with all retro looking furniture there has been a sudden swing in trends back to the traditional look. As a result the Somerset chair, amongst others in our Traditional Range, have found increasing popularity this year.
The ever popular trend of painting classic furniture has been followed by Woodbender as the Traditional range was painted an off white colour for the catalogue shoot. Like all the furniture however, a stain finish can also be done and might be preferred for a more traditional look.
The Somerset has an accompanying stool which is available in both the kitchen stool seat height of 650 mm and the bar stool height of 750 mm.
The Somerset would look beautiful in a contemporary coffee shop, possibly mix matched with the Bistro Spindleback, Bistro Ladderback, McGregor and Westridge all in different colours. Or in a rustic farm style coffee shop with the chairs in a Natural Oak Finish. The Somerset would make a lovely chair for a rustic kitchen or form a feature in a bedroom at a dressing table.
Somerset in a variety of different fabrics creating different looks.
